20/06/2008 The pro-loyalty media in Lebanon continues to violate the Doha Accord by instigating strife and circulating false and unfounded news targeting Hezbollah.

In a statement issued late on Thursday, Hezbollah denied kidnapping any individual in the Bshamoun region (Mount Lebanon) and refuted the false information broadcasted by al-Mustakbal (Future) TV about kidnapping a person from the Baydoun family.
"In the framework of instigation and negatively charging the security and political atmospheres, Mustakbal movement media outlets broadcasted unfounded information aimed to instigate strife among citizens over an individual incident in the region of Bshamoun. What really happened there was an argument between two young men for non-political reasons. The argument expanded and became between the families of the two young men. Hezbollah had nothing to do with the problem, however it interfered later and settled the situation between the two families.
Contrary to false information broadcasted by the Future TV, no individual was kidnapped and the man from the Beydoun family, who was claimed by Future TV to be kidnapped, had kept himself out of sight, however the concerned security forces have found him and are now interrogating him. Hezbollah urged concerned official sides to put an end to this media behavior that causes sedition, particularly that the Lebanese army had been calling on these media outlets to maintain accuracy and observe national behavior when broadcasting news and information."

In another statement, Hezbollah dismissed more news pertaining to Hezbollah broadcasted by Future TV, the Central News Agency and Voice of Lebanon radio station as false and fabricated.
The pro-loyalty media outlets said clashes or security incidents took place outside the Toumat Niha and Jizzine towns.
"These news are fabricated and aim to cause confusion and disturbance among the residents," the statement said.
It added that the mayors of both towns as well as concerned security forces denied the claims and clarified that what had happened was a fire outbreak in the region that led to the explosion of old mines.
