colored life :)

Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's ok though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type.. I'm like, "hey girl, magenta!" and she's like, "oh, you mean purple!" and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, "no - I want magenta!"

tom dont come?

world is a fantastic place!
yesterday i had a comment in guest book: "there r 2 eternities surrounding us....one is called Yesterday and one is called Tomorrow....one is gone and the other doesnt exist..so LIVE TODAY!
life is not a problem to be solved but a gift to be enjoyed".. i agree about first part, nobody needs to live in past and think what could happened if...
but about future..we cant live in future, but i guess we need to live today in such way, that we would get what we want in the future.
living far from a person you love is hard, but thought that after month you are gonna meet him is making that waiting easier.. if somebody would tell me that there is no future. no that day after a month [which is day in future] when i`ll meet my man, whom i love, then there would not be any reason for living today.
maybe i`m living for him, but at least i have some meaning of my life! i`m living my life for the best person in my life! and i don`t feel ashame for that!
next day can not come when i`ll be beside him. then there can be just today and i`ll accept that. but while i`m far away from my loved one, there is a day after a month when we are gonna meet! :)*
love my angel! :***

Ja tu man esi

Ja tu man esi

Nodreb lapa un koks
bet roka nenodreb,
pārdala tukšumu
nu esam viens

Mirklis ir akla
izšauta lode
mīlu un tapēc
nav vairoga sirds

Ja pirmā mīla ir zibens
es esmu koks
ja
rīts nāk ka zobens būšu miesa

Ja tu man esi
man nevajag ne debesis, ne zemi.
ja tu man esi
es gribu tik lai apstājas laiks
ja tu man esi
tu man esi

Katra kustība
nozīme robežu
aiz kuras rīts nāks tevi man ņemt

Nodreb lapa un koks
bet roka nenodreb
pārdala tukšumu nu esam viens

true friendship

Some people come, some people go,
And sometimes leave no mark to show
Where their life path crossed with mine,
No footprints on my sands of time.

Then there are some who stay awhile,
And share the good times with a smile,
But when the hard times come to call
They're nowhere to be found at all.

But there are some, I'm pleased to say,
Who never ever go away.
They are my friends who, from the start,
Have left an imprint on my heart.

And friends we'll be through thick and thin,
Because our friendship's born within
The confines of a loving heart,
Which makes it special from the start.

So here's to you my dear, dear friends,
We'll dance until the music ends,
Together facing what might be,
Your friendship truly honours me.

You give me courage, give me hope,
Your loving kindness helps me cope
With many of life's twists and turns,
As bright and clear your friendship burns.

I know that I am truly blessed,
Your friendship is my treasure chest,
My 'savings for a rainy day',
My joy, that in my life you stay

Vai viņš saka, ka mīl tevi?

aBet vīrieši klusē — kā ūdeni mutē ieņēmuši… «Kad saku — es mīlu tevi,» atklāja kāds puisis, «es jūtos tā, it kā būtu paņēmis plaukstās savu dzīvi un sniegtu to mīļotajai. Jāatzīst, ka tas man šķiet biedējoši.

NOTHING'S GONNA CHANGE MY LOVE FOR YOU (Glenn Medeiros)

If I had to live my life without you near me
The days would all be empty
The nights would seem so long
With you I see forever oh so clearly
I might have been in love before
But it never felt this strong

Our dreams are young
And we both know they'll take us
Where we want to go

(Chorus 1)
Hold me now
Touch me now
I don't want to live without you

(Chorus 2)
Nothing's gonna change my love for you
You ought know by now how much I love you
One thing you can be sure of
I'll never ask for more than your love

(Chorus 3)
Nothing's gonna change my love for you
You ought know by now how much I love you
The world may change my whole life through
But nothing's gonna change my love for you

If the road ahead is not so easy,
Our love will lead the way for us
Like a guiding star
I'll be there for you if you should need me
You don't have to change a thing
I love you just the way you are
So come with me and share the view
I'll help you see forever too

I've looked for love in stranger places,
but never found someone like you.
Someone whose smile makes me feel I've been holding back,
and now there's nothing I can't do.

'Cause this is real, and this is good.
It warms the inside just like it should,
but most of all it's built to last.

All of our friends saw from the start.
So why didn't we believe it too?
Whoa yeah, now look where you are.
You're in my heart now.
And there's no escaping it for you.

'Cause this is real, and this is good.
It warms the inside just like it should,
but most of all it's built to last.

Walking on the hills that night with those fireworks and candlelight
You and I were made to get love right

'Cause this is real, and this is good.
It warms the inside just like it should,
but most of all it's built to last.

'Cause you are the sun in my universe,
considered the best when we've felt the worst
and most of all it's built to last.

Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters...

Sfeir: Hezbollah Stronger Than the State

Sfeir: Hezbollah Stronger Than the State

Readers Number : 59

20/07/2008 Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir has criticized parties that are "stronger than the state." Sfeir, on a visit to Australia, told the Future daily that Hezbollah's "force contradicts with authority of the state and its duty to spread its sovereignty." Sfeir said "all factions claim to work for the nation's interest, but they look at Lebanon's interest through their own interests."

"Some factions head to Syria and Iran and get weapons and funds, others head to other states," he added. "All factions should owe allegiance to Lebanon," Sfeir stressed.

He said the international tribunal "should proceed with its path and it shouldn't be hampered in its quest to expose those who had committed the crimes and punish them."

President Michel Suleiman, according to Sfeir, is a good person who wants the best for his homeland noting that he had not stopped contacts with MP Michel Aoun and former Minister Sleiman Franjieh.

In response to a question on whether the recent prisoner swap between Hezbollah and Israel reflected that the party was in fact stronger than the state, Sfeir confirmed that the state was divided. “Unfortunately, there are many parties, and perhaps some parties’ show of force overpowers the state,” he stated, emphasizing that Hezbollah’s forces were incompatible with the extension of state authority and over all Lebanese territory. “But reality is reality,” he noted. He also stressed that it was the duty of Lebanese officials to reclaim prisoners "but so far there has been no result.”

Syrian FM to Visit Beirut Monday

20/07/2008 Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Mouallem is to visit Beirut on Monday, a Lebanese official said on Sunday, a week after the two neighbors agreed to establish diplomatic relations for the first time.

Mouallem is to deliver an invitation to Lebanese President Michel Sleiman from his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad to visit Damascus; a trip the Lebanese press said would take place within a week or 10 days.
Lebanon and Syria said last weekend that they had agreed to establish diplomatic relations, opening embassies in both capitals for the first time since their independence from French colonial rule more than 60 years ago.

"It is expected that the question of diplomatic relations will be raised during the visit. We hope it will mark a new step in Syrian-Lebanese ties," said Syria's Al-Watan newspaper, which is close to the government.
It said that during his visit Mouallem would discuss "ways of improving relations given the favorable circumstances with the election of a consensus president in Lebanon and the formation of a national unity government."

The plans to establish ties were announced at a summit in France to launch a Mediterranean Union which was attended by Assad, marking his return to the international stage after several years of diplomatic isolation. In a further sign of improving ties, Sarkozy announced he would visit Damascus in September.

Triumphal Cortege of Martyrs Arrives to Beirut
Batoul Wehbe Readers Number : 407

17/07/2008 The bodies and remains of some 200 Arab freed fighters handed over by Israel to Hezbollah in Operation al-Redwan arrived to the Lebanese capital on Thursday in a triumphal cortege. The cortege started its procession from Naqoura in southern Lebanon, at which a symbolic ceremony was held to honor the fighters followed by similar stops throughout the coastal road.

Hezbollah had earlier received the bodies of twelve martyrs including 8 Islamic Resistance martyrs who fell during confrontations with Israeli occupation soldiers in Lebanon in 2006. The other four bodies are for martyr Dalal Moghrabi and three of her comrades who carried out a heroic operation in the late 70's inside occupied territories.

The last direction of the procession is to be Shahed School at the airport road and later on the identity of martyrs would be confirmed.

A platform was held at Naqoura port to greet the martyrs. The procession then proceeded its journey and made its first stop at Al-Mansouri town where victory ceremonies were held to celebrate the return of heroes to the homeland. The second stop was in the Zahrani town before stopping for a third time in the city of Sidon.

Along the road of the procession, residents threw rose petals and rice and some cheered as the makeshift hearses draped in Lebanese and Palestinian flags carrying the bodies of the Lebanese, Palestinian and Arab fighters continued its journey to Beirut.

Hezbollah received two reports about the fate of detainee Yehya Skaf and lost fisherman Mohammad Farran. Farran is a young fisherman from the city of Tyre who went missing after an Israeli military boat opened fire at his fishing boat on which blood stains were found later. Yehya Skaf was said to be martyred during an operation with late resistance fighter Dalal Moghrabi.

why does it take a minute to say hello ... and forever to say goodbye... in this world of change nothing which comes, stays... and nothing which goes is lost the song is ended... but the memory lingers on...

Angels

Angels
(R.Williams/G.Chambers)

I sit and wait
Does an angel contemplate my fate?
And do they know
The places where we go
When we're grey and old
'Cos I've been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold
So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that love is dead
I'm loving angels instead
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call
She won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead
When I'm feeling weak
And my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
And I know I'll always be blessed with love
And as the feeling grows
She breathes flesh to my bones
And when love is dead
I'm loving angels instead

Sheikh Kassem Says Hezbollah Ready to Open New Page

Sheikh Kassem Says Hezbollah Ready to Open New Page
Hussein Assi Readers Number : 469

19/07/2008 Hezbollah Secretary General Deputy Sheikh Naim Kassem said that the Operation al-Radwan completed this week between the resistance and Israel was exceptional since it revealed the unity of the Lebanese people, the popular and official unanimity over the liberation of detainees.

Speaking to Qatari daily Al-Arab, Sheikh Kassem stressed that Hezbollah supports any pattern that would lead to additional understanding, dialogue, unity and consensus. The "Doha Accord opened the gate to understanding and closed the past chapter," his eminence added.

Sheikh Kassem also expressed Hezbollah readiness to open a new page and overcome all what has happened, calling to focus on the future on the basis of the national-unity government that was formed lately. "When I stand side by side with PM Fouad Saniora, this indicates our readiness to open a new page," he pointed out.

On the defensive strategy, Sheikh Kassem reiterated once again Hezbollah readiness to discuss it "with an open mind," adding that the Resistance party will commit itself to any results reached through dialogue. "The coming days would prove that we are ready for any sound logic that leads to the creation of a capable, strong and just state," Hezbollah Secretary General Deputy declared.

He also said that the party has no reservations over restoring relations with the Future Movement headed by MP Saad Hariri. "We have declared our readiness for dialogue and meetings in order to reach results," Sheikh Kassem emphasized, noting that such meetings could reflect positively on the field. "Maybe we would have more meetings in the coming days that could facilitate, one way or the other, more treatment," he said.

Sheikh Kassem also stressed that Lebanon is still in a state of war with Israel, which continues to infiltrate the skies of Lebanon and poses a serious threat.

Kintar: Israel Witnessing Its Most Humiliating Days

Kintar: Israel Witnessing Its Most Humiliating Days
Hanan Awarekeh Readers Number : 641

18/07/2008 A day after being released from the Israeli jail and returned to his homeland as part of “Operation Al-Redwan”, freed detainee Samir Kintar talked to Al-Manar TV channel, in a special interview, about his heroic operation in 1979 in which he was detained. Kintar said that Israel invented a different story on Nahariya operation (Gamal Abdel Nasser Operation, which was named after the Egyptian president) in order to gain the public’s sympathy.

"I'm innocent. I did not kill the Israeli girl and I'm not defending myself for fear of the enemy," Kintar said, adding that Israel invented the girl's murder.

Israel claims that Kintar had killed Danny Haran, a nuclear scientist, and his four-year old daughter.

Kintar said that after arriving at the Nahariya coast through the sea, he turned towards Haran’s home in a bid to take him hostage and return to Lebanon.

The cell members took Haran and his daughter with them to the beach after he insisted on taking her, and had he not done that, they would have only taken him to Lebanon. At the beach, a long battle broke out with Israeli occupation forces. Two of the cell members were killed and two others were injured, recounted Kintar.

He added that he had read "in the Zionists' report of 1979" that Haran's daughter was killed by Israeli army fire.
In the interview, Kintar displayed an apparent wide knowledge of Israel and its methods of operation, particularly in the intelligence field.

Kintar also blasted Arab nations for not doing enough in the years of conflict with Israel to help the Palestinian cause and said they sufficed with solidarity gestures alone.

The freed hero expressed his longing to return to Palestine and said, “I promised that [I would return] to my family and all those who love me in Palestine. My brothers in the Islamic Resistance and I, are going back".

Kintar also said that “Operation Al-Redwan” is an extension to the Islamic Resistance’s victory in 2006, adding that Israel is witnessing its most humiliating days since 60 years.

An Israeli official threatened Kintar upon his release that the freed detainee remains a target for Israel. A day earlier Yediot Ahronot columnist Ron Ben Yishai also threatened Kintar with an unorthodox death. “Ask your comrades in the PLO and Hezbollah what was the ultimate fate of various killers of Israelis and Jews years after they thought their actions were forgotten; for example, what happened to the killers of our athletes in Munich and their masterminds – the last of them died in unnatural circumstances 24 years after that horrific massacre. So learn from the past and draw your conclusions,” Ben Yishai wrote.

18/07/2008 One person was killed and six were wounded in fresh clashes early Friday in Lebanon's northern port city of Tripoli, a security official said.

He noted that one person died and two others were wounded when a vehicle refused to stop at an army checkpoint in the district of Bab al-Tabbaneh.

The army had stepped up its security measures and was on alert after a grenade explosion in the area. Soldiers opened fire after the driver refused to stop.

An exchange of fire between fighters from Bab al-Tabbaneh and troops of the Internal Security Forces resulted in four soldiers wounded, one seriously.

Fourteen people have been killed and more than 100 wounded since June in clashes between the two neighborhoods. Calm had returned last week after the army moved in, threatening to riposte against any security threats.

Policy Statement, Confidence Vote within Days

Policy Statement, Confidence Vote within Days
Hussein Assi Readers Number : 113

18/07/2008 While Lebanon is still celebrating the Operation Al-Redwan victory and the return of freed detainees from Israeli prisons, the cabinet started working on the policy statement which would be followed by a vote of confidence on the national unity government.

Loyalty and opposition key figures are stressing the statement's formulation wouldn't face difficulties and obstacles and thus, would see light very soon. According to press reports, the statement will be inked by the committee by weekend and discussed by the cabinet on Monday so that the vote of confidence takes place next Thursday.

The ministerial committee in charge with drafting the cabinet's policy statement held its first meeting on Thursday at the Grand Serail. Prime Minister Fouad Saniora headed the meeting, which joined State Ministers Nassib Lahoud, Youssef Taqla and Wael Abu Faour, Information Minister Tareq Mitri, Finance Minister Mohammed Chattah, Telecommunications Minister Gebran Basil, Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh, Labor Minister Muhammad Fneish, and Agriculture Minister Elias Skaff.

After the meeting, Mitri said the committee had begun its work "in good faith and with great seriousness, and will continue to work with the same spirit and seriousness, God willing."

Moreover, the committee is set to hold its second meeting on Friday to come up with a draft text as soon as possible, ministerial sources told Lebanese daily An-Nahar. The sources noted that the first meeting was positive despite differences of opinion between loyalty and opposition ministers, stressing that committee members agreed to facilitate the process of drafting the statement.

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri's sources told Assafir daily that if parliament received the draft text on Monday, the legislative session for a vote of confidence would start on Thursday and would be broadcast live by the media.

Labor Minister Mohamad Fneish expected agreement among the committee members over the article on the resistance, saying that the best solution was to adopt the formula of the previous government. For his part, member of Development and Liberation parliamentary bloc MP Anwar Al-Khalil said on Friday that the various political sides are facilitating the task of drafting the policy statement and Tuesday is the day the text is most likely to be declared

Meanwhile, Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea was still seen "combating" alone over the policy statement. On Thursday, he reiterated once again his proposal for national dialogue before drafting the ministerial statement to ensure consensus on the statement, a proposal that was rejected by his allies before opponents.

During a meeting with an LF delegation from Zghorta, Geagea urged the policy statement committee “to purge the statement of ambiguities” as "it is important that things be clear" from the onset of the government's term.

18/07/2008 Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem is expected to visit Lebanon on Monday to deliver an invitation from President Bashar al-Assad to his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman to visit Syria.
The Central News Agency said Suleiman and Moallem will discuss several issues of "common interest."

CNA quoted a Syrian source as ruling out the possibility that Lebanon and Syria would open embassies in each other's countries before the end of 2008.

Moallem on Thursday expressed optimism regarding the level of Syrian-Lebanese relations, "especially that we have emphasized on our support for the Doha Accord."

He said he would visit Beirut soon to relay a message from Assad to Suleiman "including an invitation to visit Syria."

18/07/2008 The bodies and remains of some 200 Arab freed fighters handed over by Israel to Hezbollah in Operation al-Redwan were assembled at Shahed School at the airport road in south Beirut Thursday pending final identification measures prior to handing them over to their families.

The cortege started its procession from Naqoura, southern Lebanon, at which a symbolic ceremony was held to honor the fighters followed by similar stops throughout the coastal road. It was greeted with honorary rallies in the various towns and villages. A platform was held at Al-Naqoura port to greet the martyrs.

Residents threw rose petals and rice and some cheered as the makeshift hearses carrying the bodies of the Lebanese, Palestinian and Arab fighters passed on its journey to Beirut chanting "death to America, death to Israel".

Palestine Liberation Organization official Sultan Abul Ainein told reporters "most of the martyrs are Palestinians." However, a detailed count of the remains is yet to be released pending final DNA tests.

18/07/2008 Hezbollah organized Friday a symbolic funeral procession for the martyrs of the Sincere Promise who fell during the Israeli war against Lebanon in 2006.

The bodies of the martyrs were retrieved in the framework of Operation Al-Redwan that took place Wednesday between Hezbollah and Israel. The remains of some 200 Lebanese and Arab martyrs, some of who fell in the late 70’s, as well as five Lebanese detainees including Samir Kintar returned home in exchange with two dead Israeli soldiers captured on July 12, 2006.

Speaking at the ceremony, the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council Sayyed Hashem Safiyyeddine praised the sacrifices of the martyrs who “gave us victory along with their mentor martyr Imad Moghniyeh (Hajj Redwan) in the war of 2006.”
His eminence led the prayers on the souls of the martyrs whose caskets were draped in Hezbollah flags. Thousands of people took part in the procession that reached Bir el-Abed region before the martyrs start their final journey separately to their final resting places, each in his hometown.

The martyrs are:
Mohamad Yussuf Dimashq from Ayta el-Jabal.
Moussa Yussuf Khanafer from Aynata.
Marwan Hussein Samhat from Aynata.
Zaid Mahmoud Haidar from Aynata.
Ali Hussein Fares Al-Wezwaz from Mais el-Jabal.
Moussa Hussein Fares from Maroun el-Ras.
Hasan Kamel Karnib from Maourn el Ras.

The other remains of martyrs placed at the Shahed School on the Airport Road await identification, a process that could take some time. They include martyr Dalal Moghrabi and three of her comrades who carried out a heroic operation inside the Zionist entity in the 70’s.

Thousands of people stretched Thursday along the coastal road leading for the town of Naqura on the border with occupied Palestine to Beirut’s southern suburb, to greet the cortege of fighters.

dating - marriage

i hope this is not true!

When you’re dating… Farting is never an issue.
When you’re married… You make sure there’s nothing flammable near your husband at all times.

When you’re dating… He takes you out to have a good time.
When you’re married… He brings home a 6 pack, and says “What are you going to drink?”

When you’re dating… He holds your hand in public.
When you’re married… He flicks your ear in public.

When you’re dating… A Single bed for two isn’t that bad.
When you’re married… A King size bed feels like an army cot.

When you’re dating… You are turned on at the sight of him naked.
When you’re married… You think to yourself “Was he always this hairy?”

Raad: Problematic Relation with State Artificial

Raad: Problematic Relation with State Artificial

17/07/2008 The head of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohamad Raad said Thursday that all Lebanese, irrespective of their political and sectarian differences, agree on a comprehensive national program to preserve Lebanon's unity, protect sovereignty and independence, secure internal stability and civil peace, bolster Lebanon's defense abilities, build the balanced and capable state, reject foreign interference and tutelage.

Speaking in the annual Permanent Conference for the Resistance held at the Marriott Hotel in Beirut, Raad stressed that Hezbollah is very sincere in pursuing dialogue to set the limits of the relation between the Resistance and the state that has been portrayed as problematic.

"Hezbollah didn't challenge anyone's patriotism despite the large damage this "someone" has caused for Lebanon and the Lebanese and despite the bad choices this "someone" has taken thus negatively affecting the nation's unity," Raad said during the conference which was also attended in part by Samir Kintar, Hussein Suleiman, Mohammad Srour, Maher Kourani and Khodor Zaidan who were released Wednesday from Israeli jails in the framework of Operation Al-Redwan. "However, none has the right to doubt Hezbollah's patriotism and sacrifices," Raad added.

The Hezbollah MP also noted that the resistance realizes it doesn't possess the right of waging war but, on the other hand, "none has the right to prevent it from exercising its right of defense."

17/07/2008 Samir Kintar, Hussein Suleiman, Mohammad Srour, Maher Kourani and Khodor Zaidan visited on Thursday the tomb of Hezbollah military leader martyr Imad Mughniyeh in Beirut's southern suburb on their second day of release, pledging to follow his footsteps.

The five, wearing military uniforms, were given a red carpet reception before entering Martyr Mughniyeh's tomb at Rawdat Shahedein cemetery. They placed wreaths and gave a military salute at the grave as people showered them with rice.

Kintar was released along with four Hezbollah fighters and bodies of about 200 Arab martyrs as a result of a swap deal in exchange with two dead Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah dubbed the swap deal "Operation al-Redwan" in reference to Mughniyeh's nom de guerre, Hajj Redwan whom Israel martyred in February 2008.

"We swear by God to continue the same way and not to retreat until we achieve the same stature that God bestowed on you," said Kintar, Lebanon's longest held detainee in Israel, as he left the graveyard. "We will never retreat until we die as martyrs," he added.

The freed detainees then separated everyone to his hometown. Hundreds of people in Aabey, Kintar's home town in Mount Lebanon, celebrated the return of the dean of detainees after 30 years in Israeli jails. One banner along the road leading to Aabey read: "From Palestine, to Iraq to Lebanon, the resistance is victorious."
Another said "Our prisoners are our promise," in reference to Hezbollah's vow to free Kintar and other detainees held in Israel.

In the ceremony several political figures delivered speeches greeting Kintar's release and calling for solidarity.

MP Walid Jumblatt said that "there is no contradiction between good relations and mutual respect between Lebanon, Syria and the Resistance. There is no contradiction between the Resistance and the state after agreeing over a gradual defense strategy. I assert that the only weapon to protect an arsenal is national unity."

For his part, Labor Minister Mohammed Fneish addressed Jumblat saying: "We will stay loyal to those who were with us in the cause of Arabism. We will never forget our common struggle with you, Walid Jumblatt, and what we have done together. We are looking forward to build the future of this country together."

Kintar stressed that the liberation of Shebaa Farms will not end the struggle with Israel. "It is an illusion to think that the liberation of Shebaa brings an end to the Resistance’s role. This enemy will not leave us, and the Resistance will remain long after the liberation of Shebaa."

"The expected policy statement cannot fail to recognize the legitimacy of and need for the Resistance", Minister Talal Areslan said. "The dream which was achieved when Kintar and other detainees and bodies is the decisive evidence on the ability of the resistance to attain miracles," he added.

17/07/2008 Iran said Thursday that Israel's release of Lebanese detainees in a swap was an achievement for both Hezbollah and the Lebanese people, the state news agency IRNA reported.
"News of the release of Lebanese detainees by the Zionist entity is part of Hezbollah's achievement and the Lebanese people's resistance. We congratulate them on this great victory," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was quoted as saying.

"The Zionist entity should give up its stubbornness and free all Palestinians and the Islamic republic's diplomats and surrender itself to the truth," Mottaki also said.

He was referring to four Iranians, seized in 1982 by a Christian militia in Lebanon, which Tehran insists are still alive and being held in Israel.Israel at the time was carrying out a major military operation in Lebanon when three diplomats -- Mohsen Mousavi, Ahmad Motevaselian and Taghi Rastegar Moghadam -- disappeared, along with Kazem Akhaven, a photographer with the IRNA news agency.

Samir Kintar, A Hero with 30 Medals of Honor

Samir Kintar, A Hero with 30 Medals of Honor
Hussein Assi Readers Number : 1424

16/07/2008 In a world full of conflicts and atrocities, heroes are rare to find, but wherever they are found, they just seem to impose themselves and their values.

One of those heroes is Samir Kintar who returns to Lebanon after spending thirty years in Israeli prisons, thus earning the title of the longest held Lebanese detainee in the Zionist entity. Yet, the thirty years he spent in jail couldn't change "one iota" of Kintar's beliefs and values.

The man who turned out to be a symbol for freedom in the world was born in Aabey on July 20, 1962. He studied in the town school and was distinguished by his bravery, his great enthusiasm and patriotism ever since he was a little child. Some of his many friends said that he had even written, once, under his picture "Samir Kintar the MARTYR."

Kintar participated in the armed resistance against the Israeli invasion of southern Lebanon in 1978, as well as in aiding the citizens who were forced to leave their towns and villages under heavy Israeli bombardment. He attempted to carry out a military operation against the Israeli enemy forces in June 1978, through Jordan, but the mission was aborted for military reasons. After one month, Samir went back to Jordan to carry another operation against Israeli forces but he was captured by Jordanian authorities. As a result, he was imprisoned in Jordan for eight months from January 31 until December 25.

Kintar’s eight months of imprisonment in an Arab jail did not kill his wish to combat oppression and occupation.

Months after his release, the brave teenager carried out an operation dubbed "The Nasser Operation" after Egyptian leader Jamal Abdul Nasser. The operation centered on Naharya settlement and was executed on April 22, 1979. Kintar was leading the group which included Abdel Majeed Asslan (born in 1955), Mhanna Salim Al Muayed (born in 1960) and Ahmad Al Abrass (born in 1949).

The group departed from the seashore of Tyre in south Lebanon using a 55 horse-powered rubber boat with an 88 km/hr speed. The goal of the operation was reaching Naharya where a military base is located, 10KM away from the Lebanese borders, in an attempt to capture Israeli soldiers and later exchange them by Arab detainees in Israeli prisons.

For the Israelis, reaching Naharya without carrying out any attack was in itself a dangerous precedent that also gave Kintar and his comrades their medals of honor.
Kintar amazingly maneuvered his motor boat through sixth squadrons of warships then hid the boat right – under the noses of the Israeli seashore guards and radar; and then managed to enter the settlement, after combating an Israeli patrol squad.

Kintar and his colleagues reached the seashore of military settlement of Naharya that in addition to the military base, had a police center, a military academy, the coastal guards and artillery, the naval alarm network and the head quarters for the Israeli warships (Chairborg).

The group stormed into “building 61” in Jabootinsk and split into two units combating a police patrol. Israeli sergeant (Elyaho Shahar) from the Maalot settlement was killed. In addition, Kintar’s group was able to capture Israeli atomic scientist Dan Harn.

At the end of the battle, Kintar and his comrades were down either dead or injured. Abdul Majeed Asslan got martyred and Mhanna Al Muayed was seriously wounded in head and later died. As for Samir, he was hit by five bullets all over his body as he mentioned in one of his letters; he was under fire from all directions “that even the two hostages who were with me were killed in the crossfire.” Having fell to the ground and became unable to move, Kantar and his colleague Ahmad Al Abrass were captured by Israeli forces but later on, in 1985, Ahmed Al-Abras was released in a prisoners exchange deal. However, the result of this operation was the death of six Israelis including Dan Haran, in addition to 12 injuries.
Samir's sufferings and agony began right after his imprisonment when he was taken to the Israeli Intelligence headquarters where the interrogation started.

In describing the torment, Kintar once wrote that if he was to describe what he was subject to, “it would be beyond people's apprehension.” He said: ''I was crucified on a wall without clothes, then the soldiers began to punch me. I remained under the sun many days standing, my hands were cuffed and, my head was covered by black bad smelling bags. Samir added: ''But the most severe thing was when they began to excise the bullets without anesthesia, at a time they forced me not get out my pain… They kept me held in a closed dark cell.''

Kintar was transferred to more than one Israeli prison .The first was Atleet in 1980, three years later Samir was moved to Bir Al-Sabaa central prison, a year later, he was transferred again to Kfariouna Komoud prison , afterwards he was held at the Nafha prison in the Nakab (Nagev) Desert. In 1989 Kintar was taken to the Askalan (Ashkelon) and then back to Nafha in in 1987.

In prison or outside, Kintar has acted as the fighter and the revolutionist that he is. To him, the detention camp was just another place for struggle and resistance.
Kintar became a symbol for freedom in the world, and April 22, the day of his detention, has become a day for solidarity among Arab and Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention centers and the people who call for democracy and conscience all over the world.

Today, the Lebanese hero returns to his homeland to mark another victory for the resistance against the Israeli enemy…

Latest Swap Deals Between Hezbollah and Israel

Latest Swap Deals Between Hezbollah and Israel

16/07/2008 At a rally marking the Muslim Hijri New Year, which was held at the Sayyed Al-Shuhada mosque in Beirut’s southern suburb, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said, “With resistance… as I promised in the past, we will go from victory to victory, and it will come with the help of intelligence, blood and will.”

Indeed, “Operation Al-Redwan” is the latest victory achieved by the Hezbollah resistance movement and is one of the fulfilled promises that were made by the leader of the resistance, Sayyed Nasrallah.

“Operation Al-Redwan” is not the first distinctive swap deal between Israel and Hezbollah. One of the most significant and historic exchange deals took place in 2004.

On January 29, 2004, two planes left Cologne, Germany, after the swap deal – one touching down in Beirut to be received by an enthusiastic official and popular gathering, while the other landing in Tel Aviv, amid feelings of frustration and humiliation.

On that day, Hezbollah handed the German mediator the bodies of three Israeli occupation soldiers killed in an operation in 2000 and a former intelligence officer named Elhanan Tenenbaum.

In its turn, Israel released dozens of Lebanese, Palestinian, Arab and European detainees from Israeli jails, including Sheikh Abdul Karim Obeid, Abu Ali Mustapha Dirani, Anwar Yassine, Stephan Smyrek, a German, held in Israel in charges of collaborating with Hezbollah and others. Israel also released the bodies of 59 Lebanese resistance martyrs.

In Lebanon, then President Emile Lahoud, Sayyed Nasrallah, then Prime Minister Rafik Hariri (assassinated in February, 2005), Speaker Nabih Berri and others embraced the freed detainees in a red carpet welcome as a Lebanese army band played patriotic music at the airport.

In Beirut, the former Israeli intelligence officer moved across the tarmac toward the aircraft headed for Germany, saying "My name is Elhanan Tenenbaum, and I am an Israeli citizen." Tenenbaum declined to discuss the circumstances of his capture in 2000 but spoke about how he was treated in captivity. "Very good, very good. Thank you. I was treated very well by the Hezbollah," he said.

Samir Kintar, whom Israel released in this year’s Redwan Operation was supposed to be among those released in 2004, but Israel changed its mind to pressure Hezbollah to give information about Israeli airman Ron Arad.

Sayyed Nasrallah said that the Israeli enemy had committed a stupid mistake that will force it in the future to hand over Kintar and others.
On July 12, 2006, Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers in “Operation Sincere Promise” near the border with occupied Palestine.

"Fulfilling its pledge to liberate the prisoners and detainees, the Islamic Resistance... captured two Israeli soldiers at the border with occupied Palestine," the Hezbollah statement said.

Israel launched its futile war against Lebanon with the announced objective to free the two soldiers. Sayyed Nasrallah told the Israelis through the media that nothing can return the soldiers except for indirect negotiations and a swap deal. His eminence’s pledge was fulfilled as all his previous vows.

HEZBOLLAH MAKES ‘GOOD WILL’ GESTURE SWAP WITH ISRAEL
On October 15, 2007, Israel and Hezbollah completed a limited prisoners exchange. Israel had transferred two bodies of Islamic resistance martyrs who fell in the 2006 Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Lebanese detainee identified as Hassan Naim Aqil. In return Hezbollah handed the body of a drowned Israeli settler who was swept to Lebanese shore from Haifa.

U.N. and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) officials conducted the exchange at the Naqoura crossing.

In a statement, Hezbollah said that the exchange came as a humanitarian good will gesture between both sides. "Hezbollah hopes that such good intentions would make the longed for progress to end all pending issues related to prisoners and detainees, God willing," Hezbollah's statement added.

NISR RELEASED IN FRAMEWORK OF OPERATION AL-REDWAN
Moreover, Lebanese detainee Nassim Nisr was released on June 1st, 2008 from the Nitzan (Ramle) Prison in Ramallah, in the framework of a swap deal between Hezbollah and Israel.

Hezbollah senior official, Hajj Wafiq Safa, announced that Hezbollah has handed the ICRC some body parts of Israeli soldiers who were killed in Lebanon during the 2006 aggression. Safa refused to give further details "for the safety and secrecy of the ongoing swap negotiation."

Meanwhile, the ICRC representative who escorted Nisr into Lebanon thanked Hezbollah "for the gesture the party made today" adding that it was a very important move.

The Israeli withdrawal in 2000 from most Lebanese territories, the 2004 swap deal, the “Divine Victory” in 2006, “Operation Al-Redwan” in 2008 and God willing, more victories to come through resistance till the occupied Shebaa Farms, Kafarshouba hill and the Seven Towns and every inch of our land is liberated by the spirit of self -sacrifice.

"We will not leave. We will stay in our land, in our villages and in our cities, even if our homes are destroyed… we will not tolerate the Israeli scheme…The resistance is ready to make a victory for Lebanon that will change the face of this region,” Sayyed Nasrallah vowed.
