| 18/07/2008 Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem is expected to visit Lebanon on Monday to deliver an invitation from President Bashar al-Assad to his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman to visit Syria.
The Central News Agency said Suleiman and Moallem will discuss several issues of "common interest."
CNA quoted a Syrian source as ruling out the possibility that Lebanon and Syria would open embassies in each other's countries before the end of 2008.
Moallem on Thursday expressed optimism regarding the level of Syrian-Lebanese relations, "especially that we have emphasized on our support for the Doha Accord."
He said he would visit Beirut soon to relay a message from Assad to Suleiman "including an invitation to visit Syria." |
