14/07/2008 The head of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun said differences on the ministerial statement were unlikely and stressed the national dialogue would start after the formed cabinet gains Parliament confidence.

Earlier, Lebanese Forces chief said the much-anticipated ministerial statement should parallel President Michel Suleiman’s inaugural speech, calling on the president to invite Lebanese leaders to the dialogue table after he returns from Paris on Wednesday.

General Aoun, following the weekly meeting of his parliamentary bloc, said "differences on the cabinet policy statement are unlikely," stressing that a new approach would be adopted in the ministries that FPM has assumed.

He wished luck to FPM ministers and hoped they would shoulder their responsibilities fully.

The FPM leader described establishing diplomatic ties with Damascus as an "accomplishment" that should have been done long ago.

Answering a question regarding indirect talks between Syria and Israel, Aoun said "a peace agreement would not be reached between Syria and Israel in the absence of Lebanon."
