Mohamad Shmaysani Readers Number : 489

18/07/2008 Hezbollah organized Friday a symbolic funeral procession for the martyrs of the Sincere Promise who fell during the Israeli war against Lebanon in 2006.

The bodies of the martyrs were retrieved in the framework of Operation Al-Redwan that took place Wednesday between Hezbollah and Israel. The remains of some 200 Lebanese and Arab martyrs, some of who fell in the late 70’s, as well as five Lebanese detainees including Samir Kintar returned home in exchange with two dead Israeli soldiers captured on July 12, 2006.

Speaking at the ceremony, the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council Sayyed Hashem Safiyyeddine praised the sacrifices of the martyrs who “gave us victory along with their mentor martyr Imad Moghniyeh (Hajj Redwan) in the war of 2006.”
His eminence led the prayers on the souls of the martyrs whose caskets were draped in Hezbollah flags. Thousands of people took part in the procession that reached Bir el-Abed region before the martyrs start their final journey separately to their final resting places, each in his hometown.

The martyrs are:
Mohamad Yussuf Dimashq from Ayta el-Jabal.
Moussa Yussuf Khanafer from Aynata.
Marwan Hussein Samhat from Aynata.
Zaid Mahmoud Haidar from Aynata.
Ali Hussein Fares Al-Wezwaz from Mais el-Jabal.
Moussa Hussein Fares from Maroun el-Ras.
Hasan Kamel Karnib from Maourn el Ras.

The other remains of martyrs placed at the Shahed School on the Airport Road await identification, a process that could take some time. They include martyr Dalal Moghrabi and three of her comrades who carried out a heroic operation inside the Zionist entity in the 70’s.

Thousands of people stretched Thursday along the coastal road leading for the town of Naqura on the border with occupied Palestine to Beirut’s southern suburb, to greet the cortege of fighters.
